This post has been one I’ve been thinking of making for a while. Jet and I have been talking every now and then about restarting TGG after we forgot to pay for our domain (we suck, I know). So, strap yourselves in, this is going to be a long post.
So it’s been almost a year since we’ve posted! That’s such a long time, and I have to say that I miss it. I miss writing every day and creating fun, enjoyable content for you guys. But, unfortunately, life took a turn and we ended up putting TGG on the backburner for a good few months. It was forgotten about while Jet and I got our lives straight.
For the last 6 or so months, Jet and I have been kinda out of touch with each other and the industry as a whole. Life really took it’s toll on us both, and we’ve been through some really rough patches. It’s really difficult going through so much emotional stress and not having your best friend around to give you the support only a best friend can. While I won’t go into detail about the things that’s been going on in each other’s lives, it’s been really hard to keep up appearances and carry on with TGG while it was all laid on thick.
When I moved to Brighton, I thought that life would be a lot easier and less stressful – but BOY WAS I WRONG. I absolutely do not regret moving so far away from my family and friends, nor do I regret anything I have done while I’ve been here – whether that choice was good or bad. Since September, I’ve got a job, lost that job, had health issues, social media issues, issues with my shitty flat I share with my amazing fiance… there’s too much to count. I’m still in the middle of a lot of the problems that started when I first moved away, but not dwelling on them is the best thing.
Anyway, enough about life and its general issues – and more about what you’re here for. Video games and what is in store for Two Girls Gaming for the future. I’ve been really thinking over the last few weeks or so about what kind of content I want us to bring to the table. I’ve been getting back into Overwatch a lot more recently now I have a kind of, relatively decent internet connection. When I was living with my brother, I missed it that much that I bought it on PS4 to try and get my fix there – but finding a game was such a huge amount of effort that I hardly played in the end. But, I realised that while I was playing on the PC, I’ve gotten a lot better and I wanted to start making highlight reels/funny moments from my time playing. I’ve noticed that I will quite often laugh at my mistakes in a game, and kinda laugh at other people getting salty for no reason – and I think you guys would find that quite funny too. I am in no way any good at Overwatch – but I try my hardest and I enjoy it a lot. I like playing Sombra, Soldier, Zenyatta, D.Va and the occasional Winston/Lucio. How would you guys feel about seeing content like that? I’m not adding face cam as it’s totally unneeded in this kind of video content. Plus, face cam makes me a little nervous. I have a serious game face when I play, and that face is super embarrassing.
Besides this, I still want to do Flashback Friday posts for you all because they were a huge hit. I enjoyed taking a dose of nostalgia on a Thursday evening/Friday morning, and recently I’ve been reminiscing about old games I adored as a kid. We still want to update you guys on news related things, reviews and tech reviews. Everything will be pretty much the same – but with a little added punch from the videos occasionally.
To sum this whole post up, I just wanted to say that I’m thankful people have continually asked me about what happened to TGG and why they couldn’t get on the website anymore. It shows that you guys really did care about what we had to say and you enjoyed visiting every day. So, while we don’t have our domain back up and running straight away – I couldn’t hold off any longer and wanted to let you guys know that we are back! It’s going to take a while to get everything back to how it was, but we’re not letting anything stop us from achieving what we want to achieve anymore. Two Girls Gaming is back in full force.
